Craft holds the knowledge. Creativity decides what that knowledge becomes in the wearing.

That knowledge is handed down: how fibre, yarn, and cloth behave under the hand, and what they can bear. It is held, too, in use: in how clothes are worn, eased, and shaped across the years they are kept.

Fine cloth is often set aside and protected, while clothes made for daily wear are asked first to be useful. One keeps material at a distance; the other brings it close. The two rarely meet in one garment.

CMMAWEAR asks both of a single garment: cloth of high order brought into a form made to be lived in. It is sound from its first day, but wear draws out what the cloth can become. It is finished once in the making and again in the wearing.

The garment carries the knowledge that shaped it and the intention that chose it, for as long as it is kept.
